Global Industry Projects
Gain hands-on experience alongside your studies.
Why take part?
You can take part alongside your studies and other commitments. You will have the opportunity to:
- Level up your employability
- Supercharge your consulting skills
- Deliver real business outcomes
- Increase your commercial and sector awareness
- Enhance your transferrable skills. (E.g. leadership, communication, problem solving, decision making and creativity)
How it works
Successful candidates will be onboarded onto the online platform by Practera. You will be placed in a team, then assigned a client and a project.
You are required to attend an online orientation and a project briefing session at ‘Week 0’
You agree to commit to a minimum of 25 hour across three weeks to work on the project. During this time, you will work together to:
- complete research,
- create a draft report,
- present the report to the client and
- shape the final report using the feedback received.
At the end of the three weeks, you will present your findings to the client in a live presentation as a group.
You will have access to the Practera platform during the project. It will guide you through each phase of the project and prompt you to reflect on your development. You also will be supported by a dedicated programme manager during the project.
The Global Industry Projects are integrated with Newcastle University’s Education for Life Skills and Attributes framework. This allows you to develop and demonstrate your skills in practice.
Upon successful completion you’ll receive a certificate and a LinkedIn badge.
