Windsor Terrace has 190 self-catered washbasin rooms and 48 en-suite rooms in flats shared by six students, with two shower rooms and toilets. There's an attractive open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area where you can relax with your flatmates after a hard day of study.
Access and safety
Accommodation is spread over four floors. There is no lift. There is an entry-phone system. We take the safety of our students very seriously and Estates Security Officers patrol our accommodation to ensure your peace of mind.
A Residences Manager is responsible for residential services as well as welfare and discipline and a Customer Services Manager is responsible for reception services.

The location and facilities of Windsor Terrace make it a popular choice for many students.
It is only a five-minute walk from the city’s shops, bars, restaurants and leisure facilities. It is close to the Philip Robinson Library and new Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms, both of which have catering outlets and are great spaces to study.
Haymarket and Jesmond Metro stations are about a five-minute walk away.

Jesmond and Haymarket Metro stations are both a short walk away.
There are Metro trains every five minutes during the day, to and from both these stations to Newcastle city centre.
Windsor Terrace is within five minutes’ walk of the city centre where there are buses, Metros and trains to all locations.

Calls to this number will cost 10 pence a minute from a landline and considerably more from a mobile.
From Newcastle Central Station you can take the Metro directly to Haymarket (two stops) or Jesmond (three stops).
Taxis are also available from the Central Station.
Newcastle International Airport is only about seven miles northwest of Newcastle University. A taxi from the airport will take about 15 minutes, costing approximately £15.
You can also travel by Metro to Jesmond or Haymarket stations, which will take approximately 20 to 25 minutes.

Windsor Terrace is University-Managed accommodation.
The contract is a fixed term period of 40 weeks (23 September 2018 to 30 June 2019) and covers the duration of the academic year.
Rents are charged per day, so if your contract differs to the standard dates above (i.e. earlier arrival), you will incur additional accommodation charges at the relevant daily rate.
All utility bills are included. WiFi is free and we also provide personal possessions insurance.

Our accommodation is accessible to all and we support students who have particular needs or disabilities.
One four-bedroom flat comprises two large study-bedrooms with adjustable bed, washbasin, desk and wardrobe with pull-down hanging rail.
There is one fully accessible ground floor, en-suite study-bedroom, fitted with mechanical lifting and ceiling track hoist, automatic push-pad, low-level light switches and door opening.
The wet room is equipped with pull-cord alarms next to washbasin and shower. There is a height-adjustable shower and washbasin with grab rails and hinged shower seat, clos-o-mat toilet and pull cord alarm.
The communal kitchen area is equipped with height-adjustable worktops, sink and hob with front-facing controls, low-level oven with automatic extraction fan, low-level cupboard, light switch with push-pad slow release door opening and washing machine.
There is a fire alarm strobe warning light system and pull-cord alarm.
All pull-cord alarms are connected directly to reception and are monitored by Estate Security Service when Reception is closed.
