There's a wide range of paid work opportunities available on campus each year.

These include

  • Jobs On Campus - work across campus in a variety of casual temporary roles
  • NCL Internships are internships organised by the Careers Service, many of which are with Newcastle University.  Roles are advertised on MyCareer.
  • various roles in the Careers Service
  • student ambassadors - inspire young people while representing and promoting Newcastle University. The application deadline is 12 noon on Thursday 6 October 2022 for the student ambassador roles this academic year
  • Street Scientists - help deliver exciting STEM workshops to schools and colleges and science busk at events and festivals 
  • FutureMe Mentors - take part in online and/or face to face mentoring to help inspire Year 9-11 students 
  • exam invigilators - open to current postgraduate research students
  • teaching and demonstrating
  • open day helpers
  • the Library has two Robinson bequest bursaries available annually, aimed at Masters and Doctoral students studying at Newcastle University who are interested in gaining experience of working with the Library’s Academic Skills Team

Opportunities on campus are often advertised via MyCareer - search using 'Newcastle University' in the Organisation search field. 

You can also find student jobs advertised on School notice boards or on the University's main vacancies portal.

Before starting any work for the University, you will need to register as a casual worker. Information is available on the Working on Campus webpages.
