Postgraduate students

All postgraduate students have access to our resources and activities during their studies and for up to three years after graduation. Contact us for more information.

Students undertaking a PhD have a dedicated careers consultant for their faculty who can offer one-to-one support.

The University organises tailored sessions through the postgraduate training programme. These are offered across the three faculty graduate schools. Find out about the programme for your faculty:

The University’s Visa Team offer guidance on immigration routes into UK employment for non-EEA students. They deliver a monthly workshop entitled 'Understanding the doctoral extension scheme' for PhD students on a Tier 4 visa who would like to stay in the UK after their course ends. Research staff

Research staff have access to a dedicated careers consultant. You will have access to one-to-one appointments and group sessions.

The Careers Service works closely with the Research Staff Support Team, based in Organisational Development, who oversee all aspects of support for research staff at Newcastle University.
