Crafts at Christmas and our Festive Book Swap
27 November 2025
Crafts at Christmas
We’re inviting you to take time out to explore your creative side and join us for our annual Crafts at Christmas event. We have three sessions planned where you can join Library staff and have a go at making unique paper decorations, cards and tags - even a Christmas tree from an old book - which you can use to decorate your space or send to family and friends.
Session dates and times are:
Wednesday 10 December 12-2pm Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms
Thursday 11 December 12-2pm Walton Library
Wednesday 17 December 12-2pm Philip Robinson Library
Everyone is welcome, no booking is required, and it’s FREE!
And if you can't make our sessions
You can browse our collection of magazines to inspire you, with homemade gifts, festive crafts, decorations and creative ideas - all freely available via Libby

Festive Book Swap
Looking for something new to read over the winter break, but can’t choose a title? Lots of books on your shelves and need to make some space? Good news! We’re running our festive ‘blind’ book swap at the Philip Robinson Library from Monday 1st of December, throughout the festive period.
We’ll be leaving gift-wrapped books around our Christmas tree with some information on the wrapper as to the contents and themes of the book, but you won’t find out the title until you unwrap it!
For more information about how the book swap works, check out our Instagram post from last year for more details.
You won’t need to issue the book to your Library account. It’s yours to keep, or to wrap and return once you’ve read it. Please also feel free to add your own wrapped books to our selection. The book exchange will run throughout the festive period. Happy reading!
