Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms opening hours for summer exam period.
At the start of this academic year, the Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms moved to a 17:00 closing time. Our rich usage data showed that evening demand for study space could be met by the Philip Robinson and Walton libraries, and the relatively low occupancy at Marjorie Robinson did not justify maintaining later hours.
Following student feedback—particularly around pressure on study spaces during peak assessment periods—we will be trialling extended opening hours at the Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms during the summer exam and assessment period.
From Monday 20 April to Friday 29 May 2026, the building will remain open until 22:00, seven days a week.
Throughout the pilot we will continue to monitor visits and occupancy levels across all three libraries, and these findings will inform our future planning.
