Library services over the Spring break

18 March 2026

Whether you’re staying in Newcastle or away from campus, the Library is here to support your studies. The Philip Robinson Library, Walton Library and Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms will all be open apart from Easter Sunday.

Opening hours over the Spring break

The Library is here to support your studies whether you’re staying in Newcastle for the break, or venturing away from campus. Our buildings will be open apart from April 5 (Easter Sunday) for you to use our variety of study spaces, borrow and return items, and get help from Library staff. If you’re off campus, you can access online resources and get the help you need remotely.

Philip Robinson Library temporary closure Saturday 21 March

The Philip Robinson Library will be temporarily closed on Saturday 21 March to allow for essential building maintenance work to take place. The Walton Library will be open as normal, and we have extended opening hours at the Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms until 10pm.

Approaching your final assignment and looking for some advice?

The best way to access these is through Library Search or your Subject Guide, as this ensures you are authenticated as a Newcastle University student or member of staff. You can find our tips on how to search for e-books or e-journal articles on the Finding Quality Information Online page on the Academic Skills Kit.

We're still here if you need us

The Academic Skills Team are here throughout the break to offer advice and support if you need it. You can book a one-to-one session with a member of the team and receive expert advice on a range of topics from academic writing to revising for exams. You can also explore our range of online resources through the Academic Skills Kit.
