Your feedback matters

We are proud of the support we provide to students and colleagues across the University, and our embedded approach to teaching and engagement creates many opportunities to work closely with academic staff. Feedback is essential to this partnership. Your insights help us understand what is working well, identify areas for improvement, and ensure our services continue to meet the needs of education at Newcastle University.

We regularly gather feedback from students and staff through formal evaluations, module teaching, individual consultations, working groups and day-to-day conversations. This feedback directly informs how we develop our services, enhance our collections and resources, design learning materials, and shape future teaching and support. By listening to our students and colleagues, and responding to your experiences, we can continue to provide services that are relevant, effective and aligned with the University's educational priorities.

We have really appreciated all of your work with SLS, including your student support and programme development, reflected in very positive feedback from our students.

Module Leader, Speech and Language Sciences

I have just been involved with a focus group with year two students. They were very clear how much they valued your support and that the links you made with them in year one continue into year two. It is clear that your work is greatly valued.

Feedback from students

Student feedback is gathered through a variety of channels, including feedback forms used in teaching sessions, live polling and evaluation activities delivered through Vevox, reflective learning exercises, feedback forms embedded within our online learning resources, and conversations with students during workshops, appointments and informal interactions. These opportunities help us understand how students engage with our teaching and support, identify areas where they need additional guidance, and ensure that our resources and services continue to meet their evolving needs. The comments and suggestions we receive play an important role in shaping future developments and enhancing the student learning experience.

Excellent knowledge and teaching, aimed perfectly at the audience, including good practical skills, great back up videos and module content on canvas. Absolutely 5 star!
