An appointment with the Academic Skills Team
A 50-minute one-to-one appointment with an Academic Skills tutor allows you to discuss in-depth issues and queries related to your studies and learning, from the early stages of planning your work on an assignment to drafting and editing your writing.
We are experts in helping you develop the academic skills you need for your programme and offer guidance on a wide range of topics, such as:
- academic writing
- academic reading techniques
- taking useful notes
- revising for exams
- managing your time effectively
To begin, select whether you would like to meet a tutor in person or online.
At key points of the year you will also find the Academic Skills Team visiting different locations across Newcastle campus for drop-in sessions. These are open drop-ins where there is no need to book an appointment in advance, allowing you to meet the team in person, access quick guidance and see some of our great resources.
