Dr Yarnall completed her medical degree at Newcastle University. Towards the end of her specialist registrar training she undertook a PhD on predicting cognitive impairment in early Parkinson’s disease using neurophysiology and laboratory parameters as biomarkers. She is now a Clinical Research Fellow at the Institute of Neuroscience, Newcastle University, and Honorary Consultant in Geriatric Medicine for Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals (NUTH) NHS Foundation Trust. She has a particular interest in cognitive decline and falls in people with Parkinson’s and has published more than 70 articles. She runs a specialist clinic for older adults with Parkinson’s and complex health needs in NUTH, in addition to a general dementia clinic.
