Dr Aurelie Guyet is a Research Associate at the Biosciences Institute at Newcastle University, a position she has held since 2009. Her areas of expertise lies in molecular microbiology, bacterial genetics and synthetic biology.
Aurelie is currently a member of Prof. Heath Murray's lab, where she investigates protein-protein interactions essential for DNA replication initiation in Bacillus subtitlis.
Her previous work in Dr Richard Daniel’s lab focused on studying cell envelope biosynthesis in B. subtilis. As an integral part of the interdisciplinary team on the Portabolomics Synthetic Biology project, led by Prof. Natalio Krasnogor, she investigated the expression of synthetic genetic circuits within anucleated cells of both Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli.
