I obtained a BSc Hons in Physiology at the University of Glasgow and continued at the university to complete my PhD in Cardiac Physiology. My thesis was a study of mitochondrial redox state in cardiac muscle. My previous research posts have involved working in the fields of cardiac electrophysiology and reproductive biology.
I am currently working in the Mitochondrial Research Group as part of the Treatments Team. The focus of our work is to identify drugs that improve mitochondrial function and have the potential to be taken forward for drug development. Ultimately, we hope to develop treatments for mitochondrial disease which can have a positive impact on the lives of patients living with these conditions.
