Justin's primary research interest lies in improving public health decision-making in resource-constrained environments, with a strong emphasis on equity. He is mainly working with Dr. Cristina Fernandez-Garcia and Prof. Laura Ternent on a project examining the de/commissioning process at the local level in the context of NHS reform in England.
Justin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Preventive Medicine from mainland China and a Master’s degree in Health Economics, Policy, and Management from the Karolinska Institute, Sweden (2024). Following his studies, he worked as a Research Assistant at Uppsala University, where he was closely involved in Swedish and European health economics projects, particularly those focusing on child health and mental health. During this time, Justin had the privilege of working under the supervision of Filipa Sampaio and Inna Feldman.
Building on these experiences, he is committed to applying his skills and knowledge to reduce inequities in healthcare across diverse contexts, as reflected in his growing interest in mixed-methods research. He is always open to collaboration—please feel free to reach out if our research interests align.
