Background
Katie joined the AGE research group in April 2024 as a research nurse to work at the Clinical Aging Research Unit to assist with the clinical work required for current studies.
Katie has over 9 years of nursing experience and started her career working within Newcastle Hospitals in orthopaedic surgery, supporting inpatients pre- and post-operatively and in their recovery.
Prior to joining the team Katie more recently worked in County Durham as a community nurse performing home visits for those that were housebound and unable to attend their GP surgery. It was here, working with the frail and elderly that her desire to work on improving the lives of older people was fuelled and her interest in research grew.
