I am a Research Associate, and the Project Manager for the NIHR funded ADEPT study, based in the Population Health Sciences Institute. ADEPT aims to use complex systems approaches to better understand the challenges experienced by people with co-occurring heavy drinking and depression, and their service providers, using the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System as a case study area. Prior to this role I held an ESRC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Durham University (2019-2020). I completed my PhD at Newcastle University in 2018 which was a sociological exploration of women’s drinking practices and stress.
Research Interests
My main research interests are: drinking practices, mental health, unpaid care, digital health and information sharing. More broadly, I have an interest in how sociological and feminist theories of care can help with understanding different dimensions of health and wellbeing. I am also interested in ‘ethics in practice’ in qualitative health research.
