Staff Profile

I am a research project manager within the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Newcastle University.

I am costed into medical and translational research grants on a full time equivalent (FTE) basis.

I manage a portfolio of projects for Principal Investigators (PI) and ensure research projects are completed on time and to the required funder standards. The PM scope varies depending upon the research project. In a nutshell though I support the PI by making sure things run efficiently.

Prior to this I specialised in organic waste, commercial scale composting and anaerobic digestion. I advised public and private organisations about production and quality processes as well as product and market development. I was also a specialist in in energy modelling and product development for a software company.

I have managed technical, scientific and market development projects.

I have a MSc degree in Clean Technology and a BSc (hons) in Microbiology, both from Newcastle University.  I am also a qualified marketer via the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
