Luke Bashford's research lab uses implanted Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) to investigate the neural mechanisms underlying human sensorimotor and cognitive function for basic science and clinical translation. This is achieved by recording and stimulating through intracranial or intracortical electrodes during various experimental and real-world paradigms with human participants.
Luke's lab also conducts regulatory science projects, particularly concerning the translation of neurotechnologies to human studies. The aim of this work is to make research and medical device clinical studies more accessible to researchers and people with lived experience of neurological conditions.
In addition to his research Luke also supports various industry led neurotechnology clinical trials.
