Patience Kunonga is a Research Associate for the Evidence Synthesis Group in the Population Health Sciences Institute, Newcastle University. Patience is also one of the core team members delivering outputs for the National Institute for Health Research Older People and Frailty Policy Research Unit (NIHR OPFPRU). OPFPRU is a collaboration between the University of Manchester, Newcastle University and the London School of Economics, which aims to answer policymakers’ questions and help the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) to make informed decisions about the lives of older people. Prior to her OPF PRU role, Patience supported the delivery of the NIHR Innovation Observatory, established at Newcastle University in 2017. The Innovation Observatory is a national horizon scanning and intelligence research centre, with a focus on the provision of early awareness signals and access to timely intelligence to support national decision making around health care innovation.
