I am a Senior Research Associate in the Health Economics Group within the Population Health Sciences Institute and an NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) Fellow in the 'Enabling Methodologies' Theme.
I previously worked part-time with Prof Clare Bambra & Dr Heather Brown in the Social Determinants of Health team (2017-2019).
I was awarded my PhD in January 2018. My thesis was entitled 'Exploring Inequalities in Child Cognitive Ability, Psychological Well-Being and Adolescent Risky Health Behaviours', and was supervised by Dr Heather Brown, Dr Jing Shen and Prof John Wildman.
I have published papers in high impact journals such as Value in Health, Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health, BMJ Open and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and contributed to reports for NHS England, NIHR and NHSA.
My current research interests include:
- Measuring and valuing health-related quality of life
- Preference elicitation methods
- Socioeconomic Inequalities in Health
In the future, I am hoping to expand my knowledge of model-based economic evaluations.

I am currently working on several research projects. Examples include:
SPRING
A phase III randomised trial comparing prophylactic levetiracetam versus no prophylactic anti epileptic drug in patients with newly diagnosed presumed supratentorial (cerebral) glioma.
MapMe2
Can embedding the MapMe intervention, a tool to improve parental acknowledgement and understanding of childhood overweight and obesity, in the National Child Measurement Programme lead to improved child weight outcomes at one year?
Adult Autism Health Check Study
Design and initial evaluation of an autism-specific health check for use with autistic adults in NHS Primary Care
I have previously worked on projects related to the NHS 111 service, health and productivity, inequalities in infant mortality, end of life care for people with dementia, the HRQoL of children with obesity, laser therapy in head and neck cancer and different treatment strategies for brain cancer.

Along with Diarmuid Coughlan, I am responsible for the delivery of the 'Health Economics and Market Access' module of the MSc Oncology and Palliative Care.
