Dr Anjam Khan

Originally from Manchester, Anjam Khan studied and worked at Edinburgh and Cambridge Universities before joining Newcastle University as a Principal Investigator in 1994. His research involves understanding the mechanisms by which microbial pathogens cause disease. He was appointed Director of the Infectious Diseases Facility in 2008. As an academic he is strongly committed to teaching and inspiring the next generation of scientists. In 2020, Anjam became the Academic Lead for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, determined to help embed EDI into the selection, education, management, and promotion processes. Anjam enjoys cinema and football and is a lifelong supporter of Manchester City.
