Choosing Newcastle

I chose to complete my PGR studies at Newcastle University because of its strong reputation in marine science and environmental policy, which aligns perfectly with my research interests. The university offers excellent research facilities, access to leading experts, and strong industry connections, providing an ideal environment for academic and professional growth.

Newcastle as a city

I have enjoyed the most about Newcastle is the weather, people and the lifestyle. The city offers a great balance between a vibrant urban environment and peaceful natural surroundings. Its friendly community, rich history, and beautiful riverside make it a fantastic place to live and study.

Skills gained throughout their research programme

In addition to my PhD, I have earned two important certifications: a PG Cert in Research Training and a Teaching for Higher Education certificate as a demonstrator. These have enhanced my research, analytical, and teaching skills, preparing me for both academic and professional roles.
