TESOL MA
Induction schedule for postgraduates starting on the TESOL MA programme in September 2026
Your Welcome Week activities will take place in the week commencing 21 September 2026.
To help you transition smoothly into university life, we've designed this bespoke schedule for your degree programme.
This schedule is for all new students on the following programmes:
- MA TESOL
- MA TESOL & Digital Technology
- MA TESOL & Intercultural Communication
Induction Week includes in-person sessions, online sessions (on Teams) and some important ‘self-study’ activities (online). All information about induction week is available on the MA TESOL+ Canvas Community
Once you have completed your registration, you will (1) be given a university email account and (2) have access to this Canvas Community.
In-person sessions during induction week will take place in King George VI Building
(KGVI). We have provided videos to help you find all of the rooms we will use during
Induction Week (see links below).
In addition to the induction activities described below, students are required to
complete a Central University Induction programme, details of which will be made
available soon.
Finally, students need to be aware of ethical uses of AI. It is important that you learn how AI can enhance your learning, however, you must avoid being over reliant on AI and must not misuse it.
To help with this, Newcastle University have created a set of materials and a short online course. Details of these materials will be available soon.
All activities and events are still subject to change. All times stated are UK British Summer Time (GMT+1)
