Discover your new library space
Acting on insights gained from UX (user experience) and library headcount data, we've invested in one of the library's most popular spaces to create a more flexible, inclusive, and future-ready environment for learning, collaboration, and teaching.
What's changed?
The floor has been transformed into a vibrant, flexible learning space designed to support a wide range of study activities and learning styles. Whether you're practising a presentation, collaborating on a group project, studying independently alongside friends, participating in a seminar, or attending an online lecture, you'll find a variety of study settings to suit your needs.
- More Space to Collaborate
We've opened up the Level 1 area to create a larger collaborative study environment, with additional collaborative and individual seating and enhanced group study rooms.
- A New 48-Seat Digital Teaching Hub
A modern PC cluster which brings technology, teaching, and collaboration together in one space.
- Enhanced Teaching Facilities
Room 152 has been transformed into a new 32-seat teaching and activity space, complete with upgraded audio-visual equipment to support engaging teaching, workshops, and events.
- Designed with Sustainability in Mind
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we've reused existing furniture where possible and combined it with new furniture to create a refreshed environment while reducing waste.
A Space Shaped by You
This investment responds directly to how our community uses the library today. By creating more collaborative spaces, enhanced teaching facilities, improved technology, and better accessibility, we’ve created an environment that supports learning, connection, and success.
From collaborative workspaces and enhanced group study rooms to quiet individual study areas and technology-enabled teaching spaces, the redesigned floor gives you the flexibility to choose how and where you learn. With improved accessibility, modern facilities, and a mix of ergonomic and comfortable furniture, the space is designed to help every student feel welcome, supported, and able to do their best work.
