Eleanor Taylor-Newman

Background
Eleanor graduated with an MChem degree from the University of Leicester in 2020. After working in industry as a Peptide Scientist for 1 year, she started her PhD in 2021 at Durham University. Her PhD was carried out under the supervision of Prof. Steven Cobb and as part of a collaboration with Dr Graham Taylor at the University of Birmingham. Her research focused on the synthesis and testing of ligands and PROTACs to target the Epstein-Barr Nuclear Antigen 1 protein.
Research
Eleanor joined the Kawamura Research Group in January 2026 as an EPSRC Postdoctoral Pathway Fellow. She is interested in applying mRNA display to identify peptide binders against target RNA.
