Staff Profile

William is a Botanical and Lab Support Technician based at the Agriculture Building on campus. He is a Newcastle University Alumni graduating with a MSc degree in Ecology and Biodiversity in 2021. He has worked in the Plant Research Technical Team since 2026. His main responsibilities within the School are maintaining the lab facilities at the Agriculture building and supporting UG and PG research projects.

Prior to working at Newcastle University, William worked for various environmental consultancies where he managed development projects focused on housing, transport, infrastructure and renewables. William has great knowledge of the UK planning system and how ecology plays a vital part  

Away from the labs , William enjoys running competitively, going for walks, sea swimming and just about anything else outdoorsy.
