Join the team

If you're interested in joining our Chaplaincy team, we'd love you to apply! We're keen to diversify our Chaplaincy team to include colleagues from different faith and spirituality backgrounds that aren't currently represented in our team.

Our Chaplains work to provide inclusive and diverse pastoral support to students and colleagues. Their aim is to ensure that all students - whether you're of faith or not - have an exceptional experience and can seek support.

Being a Chaplain is voluntary, and we need a consistent time commitment to ensure we can meet the support needs of our students and colleagues. We'll provide you with the support, resources and training you need to excel in this role.

If you or your faith organisation is interested in chaplaincy work here at the university, you can contact the Chaplaincy via email for more information: chaplaincy@ncl.ac.uk

We welcome applications at any time, and we'll consider them based on the needs of our students and staff at the time.

To apply, please send a covering letter (up to two sides of A4) and CV by email to chaplaincy@ncl.ac.uk.

In your letter, please let us know the amount of time you're able to commit to this role, your reason for applying and how you meet the role description (a copy will be provided on request). Please also include postal, phone and email contact details for three referees. One of your referees should be associated with your accrediting faith/belief organisation, and one should be a current or recent employer.

You can also call Student Services, who can pass on a telephone message to the Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care team on + 44 (0) 191 208 3333
