Request wellbeing support

Your wellbeing matters to us.

Whether you're facing academic stress, seeking ways to enhance your wellbeing or simply looking for a supportive community, we've got a range of resources across campus to ensure you have access to wellbeing support.

Pianos on campus

Did you know that music can boost your wellbeing? The act of playing or listening to a musical instrument can help you savour a moment of ‘time out’ during a busy day. It's not only great if you play it, but it's also soothing to listen to!

Many of our staff and students don't have easy access to music whilst they're on campus and this is something we recognise.

That's why you'll find pianos on campus across the university. They follow the St Pancras model of being in communal places for everyone to play, whatever their musical ability.

You'll currently find them at:

  • Student Union; Luthers Bar
  • Student Union; First Floor Recreation Space
  • Frederick Douglass Building; Exhibition Space
  • Dental School; Student Common Room
  • Marjorie Robinson Library; First Floor

Use our map below to see these locations. Just click on a piano icon, or open the map and use our informative key to locate the nearest piano.

Wellbeing workshops

We offer a range of wellbeing workshops, throughout the academic year to help you maintain or improve your wellbeing while you study here at Newcastle.

Volunteering

Why not develop new skills and responsibilities while supporting our local community by becoming a volunteer? Our Students' Union offers this service, and it can benefit your mental and physical health while helping others.
