Returning students: what's new for 2026
4 September 2026
The University Library is ready to welcome you back! Read on to discover what’s changed over the summer and what you need to know to get ahead this new academic year.
What’s new at your libraries?
At the Philip Robinson Library, we’ve been busy over the break making improvements based on your feedback. We know you how much you love the individual study booths in our silent spaces, so we’ve installed more on Level 4.
The relocation of the current print collections from the Law Library to the Philip Robinson Library and Research Reserve has been completed and all key legal research resources, including core print textbooks, are conveniently available on Level 3. Items located in our Research Reserve can easily be requested via Library Help.
At Walton, we have made some changes to the old Clinical Skills Room, and across both the Philip Robinson and Walton libraries, NUIT have replaced the PCs in our cluster areas as part of their Student PC Cluster Refresh Programme.
Our project looking at the complete refurbishment of Level 1 of the Philip Robinson Library has progressed well over the summer and we are in the final phase. We plan to unveil this exciting space in the next few weeks, so watch out for more news!
