Background
I am the technical team leader for sport science and nutrition within the School of Biomedical, Nutritional and Sport Sciences at Newcastle University. This involves technical and practical responsibilities for the Sport and Exercise Science and Nutrition undergraduate programmes, in addition to day to day operation of laboratory facilities. I completed my PhD in 2016 which investigated the effects of whey protein consumption on postprandial metabolism and appetite responses. I have previously gained an MSc in Sports Science from Loughborough University and a BSc (Hons.) in Sport and Exercise Science from Sheffield Hallam University. My current role involves assisting in the design and delivery of new practical classes, in addition to the development of a suite of new purpose-built sport and exercise science labs and managing the transition into this facility. I periodically deliver lectures in physiology and nutrition, as well as engaging in research activity and providing sport science support to a number of athletes.
