Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014
The Research Excellence Framework 2014 assessed the quality of research in the UK's higher education institutions.
The REF review process is managed by the Higher Education Funding Council for England. It is made on three main criteria:
- quality of research outputs
- impact of research (beyond the University)
- vitality of the research environment
Results
In 2014 our REF submission came from the following schools, which have now merged to form the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences:
