Student Goal Setting & Reflection

NEW: A vision for education and skills at Newcastle University: Education for Life 2030+

The Goal Setting & Reflection area of My Progress is designed to support reflective, developmental conversations between students and Academic Advisers.

Students can use this area to set goals, record reflections, and review their progress over time. This can help them prepare for meetings with their Academic Adviser and identify topics they would like to discuss, including academic progress, skills development and future plans.

For colleagues, the information recorded by students can provide useful context and conversation prompts. It should be used to support student-led discussion, encourage reflection, and help identify appropriate guidance or signposting where needed. To help encourage effective goal setting, a suite of training materials is available for Advisers.

The Goal Setting area lists all the goals a student has set. By default, all goals are shared with the student's Academic Adviser.
