Workshop: “Global research for Healthier Lives in a post-COVID world” Monday 21st September 2020
Workshop: “Global research for Healthier Lives in a post-COVID world” Monday 21st September 2020The Centre for Healthier Lives in collaboration with the Global Challenges Academy and the Policy Academy hosted an online Workshop.
The workshop aimed to address how the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting issues around food, physical activity and alcohol and their impact on health. Researchers from among our global partners and across the University who undertake research in the Healthier Lives space shared examples of research projects and identified future research priorities.
A programme of the Workshop can be found here: GlobalResearch_Programme. A recording of the workshop can be viewed here.
Workshop: "Lifestyle-based interventions in the post-COVID world" on Monday 15th June 2020
Workshop: "Lifestyle-based interventions in the post-COVID world" on Monday 15th June 2020The Centre for Healthier Lives in collaboration with the Policy Academy hosted an event entitled "Lifestyle-based interventions in the post-COVID world" on Monday 15th June 2020.
The Workshop addressed how behaviours including diet, physical activity and alcohol consumption are drivers of multiple health outcomes that are major public health issues globally. As we emerge from the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic, what are the policy priorities for these behaviours? COVID-19 has exposed some of our most persistent health inequalities and highlighted the need for more effective, and pervasive, interventions to promote and facilitate behaviour change.
