Dr Abrar Babateen has won the Newcastle University Medical Sciences Doctoral Prize for her PhD thesis entitled “Dietary Nitrate in Vascular and Brain Health”.  Abrar was supervised by Dr Mario Siervo (now at the University of Nottingham), Dr Gerry O’Brien and Prof John Mathers.
