Employability
Our graduates are sought after by leading industry employers from across the globe.
Student engineers
We see our students as ‘Student Engineers’, meaning right from day one, you will be on the pathway to becoming a professional engineer.
A Chartered Engineer (CEng) is one of the most recognised international engineering qualifications.
- our Master of Engineering (MEng) degrees are a direct route to becoming chartered. You don’t need to study any further qualifications to work toward chartered status
- our Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degrees can also lead to Chartered Engineer status. However, you’ll need to complete further study, such as an approved Master's degree
Find out more about the benefits of becoming a Chartered Engineer on the Engineering Council’s website
Here at Newcastle, we host the regional office of the Institution of Civil Engineers, providing you with opportunities to meet with staff and professional engineers. ICE North East supports over 2,000 members, living and working in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Durham and Tees Valley.
