Description
The research aimed to deliver realistic detail of hourly weather variables (temperature, sunshine, wind) which control building internal environment. Building environment models need time series data for inputs. It used development of the UKCP09 weather generator on the Cloud. This provided flexible statistical ensembles for any location in the UK.
A particular issue that it addressed is how to represent the extremes in a proportional way, when building models typically can run only short periods of simulation.
