Staff Profile

Dr Wojciech Mrozik

Faraday Institution Research Fellow

Background

My vision is to live in the chemically safe and pollution-free world, within a healthy society connected to nature.

I love to learn and discover new concepts, ideas and phenomena. I also have a strong drive to share useful information with others.

I believe everyone is unique and holds his own special talent. That is why generalization is not a good solution for building productive teams. The secret to great teams is by discovering each person's motivation and individual strengths. I seek the potential in others to help them grow.

    Research

    Research Interests

I am interested in the impact and interactions of modern pollutants (micropollutants) with the natural environment.  Therefore, I developed myself as an expert in Environmental & Analytical Chemistry with over 16 years of experience in challenging analysis and method development. I have been working in transdisciplinary and international teams and led few projects (as a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator), training staff and teaching at academic and commercial level.

Recently, I am interested in the environmental impact of lithium-ion batteries.

    Projects:
    1. Valorisation of agricultural wastes in the Thai rural economy for bioenergy production, nutrient recycling and water pollution control in aquaculture – Newton Fund (2017 -2018) Research Associate
    2. Enzymatic antibiotics pollution control – British Council (2016 – 2018) - Researcher
    3. Smart reactive sorbents for the removal of emerging contaminants – CeG Seed Corn (2015-2016) - Co-Investigator
