Newcastle University showed clear links with industry and incorporated real world projects into the curriculum. This was crucial in developing the real world skill required in engineering. I undertook placements in every summer vacation while I was studying. This gave me real world experience and helped me to decide what future career path I wanted to take. The skills learnt in these placements underpin my day-to-day activities as well as helping my studies.
