Project description
Osteoporosis is a disease which becomes more common with age. It is typified by reduced bone strength because of an imbalance between bone formation and resorption.
I will develop models which combine cells, materials and molecules to produce in vitro behaviour representative of healthy and diseased osteoporotic tissue. This will involve the use of a range of automated additive manufacturing (3D printing) and bioprinting techniques.
