excellence has earned the praise of students.Newcastle University is a Russell Group University and we ranked joint 22nd out of 123 in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2015.

Newcastle is ranked:

  • 8th in the UK for Medical and Life Sciences research quality (REF 2014)
  • 3rd in the UK for English, and in the top 12 for Geography, Architecture and Planning, and Cultural and Media Studies research quality (REF 2014)
  • an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) top 20 strategic partner
  • top 20 for graduate career prospects (The Times and Sunday Times University Guide, 2015; The Guardian University Guide 2015; The Complete University Guide 2015)
