We contribute to the vocational skills, employability and personal and cultural development in the region.

Aside from our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, we provide:

• professional development courses for business people
  
• We are a venue for the North East Centre for Lifelong Learning, which allows any adult to pursue their interests and develop professional and personal skills
• providing quality internet training services through Netskills

Many of our graduates choose to stay in the region, bringing additional skills and energy to the workforce. Our University Careers Service works to enhance their employability, and to promote our students and graduates to employers.
