One of the core principles of the University’s strategy for future development is our commitment to internationalisation. This is founded upon the recognition that transforming the international student experience will increase our competitiveness in international markets.

In February 2007, the University entered into an agreement with INTO University Partnerships, leading to the creation of INTO Newcastle University. This joint-venture offers unique new standards of academic preparation and English language courses for international students.

The development of an international study centre will provide a world-class student experience in the heart of the University campus.

Study centre facilities will include:

  • state-of-the-art facilities
  • substantial and flexible teaching spaces
  • residential accommodation with approximately 540 bedrooms
  • comfortable communal spaces where students can socialise
