Road Travel to Newcastle

The location of our buildings can be found on our campus maps page. If you're travelling using a route planner or sat-nav, our postcode is NE1 7RU.

Newcastle is easily accessible by road via the A1 from the north and south and the A69 from the west. The following route planners may assist you to plan your journey:

Parking on campus

We are unable to offer parking on campus, although we do have a limited number of spaces for visitors with mobility issues. If you have been able to reserve on-campus parking (this must be arranged for you by a member of staff), use the entrance on Claremont Road, opposite the Great North Museum: Hancock.

Taxi point

If you are arriving by taxi the University's taxi drop-off point is on central campus. Use the entrance on Claremont Road to reach the drop-off point on King's Road.

City centre car parks

There are numerous car parks within walking distance of campus. The nearest NCP car parks are:

Some of our events offer a 20% discount for the NCP car parks. You will usually need to validate your parking ticket on the day.

Park and ride

As the city centre is a busy place to park, you may prefer to park at a Metro station and travel in by Metro. If you choose either of the stations listed below, you will need to pay for parking and buy a return ticket (two zones) to Haymarket Metro Station, which is directly opposite the University.
