Aims

This module identifies the key role of leadership in developing effective educational institutions. Closely linked to this role is the need for a critical awareness of the leadership styles and approaches that are being adopted as a means by which one’s vision can be achieved. The module makes use of a collaborative groupwork approach that allows students to engage with leadership and management issues.

Essay1M100One assignment of 4,000 words. This assignment involves two elements: 1. A concept map/model to demonstrate the relationship between two topics (1000 word equivalent); 2. Explanation and justification of your concept map/model (3000 words).
Assessment Rationale And Relationship

A 4,000 word assignment (+/-10%) assesses the student’s knowledge and understanding of the theories, current thinking and key issues as they relate to leadership and strategic management of educational institutions. In addition, the assignment explores the extent to which the student has a critical grasp of relevant research literature and knowledge of the policy framework that relates to educational institutions and their own practice/experience of leadership.
This assignment involves two elements:
A concept map/model to demonstrate the relationship between at least two topics selected from the 6 taught sessions in this module.
Explanation and justification of your concept map/model.
The word limit is 4000 words in total, however, the map/model is equivalent to 1000 words, allowing for a maximum of 3000 words of writing for the explanation and justification.
