Our undergraduate tuition fees for new UK students entering Newcastle University in 2021 will be £9,250.
The maximum fee that we are permitted to charge for UK students is set by the UK government. As a general principle, you should expect the tuition fee to increase in each subsequent academic year of your course, subject to government regulations on fee increases and in line with inflation.
You may be eligible to apply for a tuition fee loan and if you are accepted, you will not have to pay any tuition fees up-front or while you are studying.
Please note that some of our degrees involve additional costs which are not covered by your tuition fee.
For courses commencing from September 2021, EU, other EEA and Swiss nationals will no longer be eligible for home fees or Student Finance England support.
This includes courses starting in the academic year 2021/22 and beyond. If you are from the EU you will now pay international tuition fees.
Tuition fee information for international students is set out on our individual degree pages for each degree.
If you are a current student, please visit our Tuition Fees website for finance information.
An alumni discount of 20% off fee costs is available if you've already completed a degree at Newcastle, and are self-financing a second undergraduate degree with us.
You may be eligible for a 2% discount off your annual tuition fees by paying them up front and in full.
The University will withhold your degree certificate if you have not paid your tuition fees. We explain this policy in the University General Regulations (PDF: 322KB).
We want to protect you by making sure you don't take unnecessary risks with your money.
To ensure your safety in paying your tuition fees, we will no longer accept cash payments from the 2020/21 academic year.
We offer you many other payment options by safer and more secure means.
University tuition fees are not subject to exchange control regulations for Chinese students.
Home fee students will need to allow around £9,500-£10,500 a year for living costs. This figure is for guidance only. It will depend on your own personal spending patterns and how you manage your money.
We aim to minimise additional costs to students but some of our degrees involve costs that tuition fees do not cover. To make sure that you budget accurately for university life, check if your degree requires any additional course costs.
