Aims

The module develops the students skills in acquiring, sorting and presenting information in a new technical area.

Outline Of Syllabus

An individual assignment to survey recent published literature in a new technological area. To review modern engineering developments and future trends. To consider financial, ethical, sustainability issues related to the topic. The presentation and report is carried out in consultation with an academic staff supervisor.

Assessment Rationale And Relationship

The report will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the key aspects of the technology under review. Subject specific, critical and evaluative skills will also be assessed through the written exercise. The presentation will test the students' skills in gathering information, presenting information in front of an audience, oral communication, and ability to direct answer questions.
