Description Semester When Set Percentage Comment
Portfolio3A100Up to 15,000 words of prose; or, up to 40 poems; or, up to 6,000 words of script, plus a synopsis.
Assessment Rationale And Relationship

For prose writers, the portfolio will consist of whole stories, or chapters. With Script, the portfolio should be a self-contained one act play or an act (not necessarily self-contained) of a screenplay for tv or film.

Self- contained theatre plays (5,5000 - 6,000 words), should be accompanied by a synopsis of between 300 and 500 words. Screenplays (6,000 words), either self-contained or an extract of a feature film or TV series episode, should be accompanied by a synopsis of between 500 and 1,000 words.

The portfolio allows the student to bring their work to a stage of completion based on both thorough revision and integration of learning acquired across the course.
