Meet Daniel

Theoretical Physics MPhys

I chose Newcastle University as the course would give me flexibility in my first year to decide which area of physics I wanted to focus on.

Newcastle is very welcoming and approachable, and wanted to do the most to accommodate my visual impairment. The smaller cohort gives the department a more community feel, meaning you don't get lost in a wash of people.

Physics is the subject which lets you study everything to the smallest detail

Financial assistance

Receiving financial assistance from Newcastle really helped me get settled into societies and clubs allowing me to join in and make new friends within the University.

Physics lets you study detail

I've always had an interest in science and knowledge about the world, but I really feel like physics is the subject which lets you study everything to the smallest detail. I really enjoy the vast array of content which we cover and how easy the lecturers are to talk to if you are ever stuck on any problem.

Advice for prospective Newcastle students

The advice I'd give to students about studying physics at Newcastle would be to just go for it, try it out, see what you think. Study hard and make sure that you love the subject as you will doing a lot of it.
