Aims

To build on academic and professional skills learned in Stage 1. Particularly to prepare students for their research projects in terms of experimental design, statistical analysis and presentation and project planning.

Outline Of Syllabus

Quantitative research: sampling and experimental design
Summary statistics, comparing categorical data, T tests ANOVA, Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, Chisquared
Links between continuous data: univariate regression, correlation, interaction
Multivariate regression and ordination: PCA, RA, Factor analysis
Project planning and management
Advanced research and writing skills

Teaching Rationale And Relationship

Teaching will be taught in the non synchronous online material which will be lectures and practicals - then questions can be asked in the synchronous online drop-ins.
PiP time will help students develop their project proposal ideas
