Aims

The aims of the module are:
A1: to introduce team working, problem solving, record keeping and presentation of results.
A2: to introduce Microsoft WORD and EXCEL for Engineering applications.

Outline Of Syllabus

The contents of the course will include: Maintaining a log book to record module activities; Problem solving; Time and meeting management; Research skills, identifying, reviewing and using references; presentations of set and self chosen topics; Group design project; Use of WORD to create a document containing words, graphics, tables, engineering drawings. Use of EXCEL to solve several mathematical and engineering problems; demonstration of a commerical finite element software.
