Aims
This is a timetabled not for credit pilot series for undergraduate stage 2 students participating on Media, Culture & Heritage programmes (PLQ0, P500, P303, P313 & P305). Participation is voluntary but strongly advised as the series aims to:
1. Introduce students to the importance and benefits of building work experience during their degree
2. Provide room for students to explore their graduate goals through engaging in career planning activities
3. Develop skills used within the recruitment process to raise the quality of applications
4. Increase uptake of work experience opportunities including internships, placement years and volunteering.
5. Provide a space for students to share experiences and engage in peer to peer learning
6. Prepare students for their chosen graduate outcomes

Teaching Rationale And Relationship
Employability skills are most effectively honed through practice. The combination of informational delivery for students to comprehend the grounding and principles of research and recruitment techniques, and the opportunity to put these into practice whilst being supported by careers practitioners will develop their understanding of the labour market and how to access as well as secure work experience opportunities.
